Chapter 3: The Certification Process
IN THIS LESSON
A medical cannabis evaluation is a clinical visit focused on understanding your medical history, current symptoms, and prior treatments.
The provider will review relevant records, ask questions, and discuss whether medical cannabis may be appropriate based on clinical judgment.
Not every patient will qualify for a certification. Decisions are individualized and based on potential risks, benefits, and safety considerations. A certification, if issued, reflects a medical determination—not a guarantee of treatment or outcomes.
Patients are encouraged to ask questions during the visit and to share complete and accurate information. Ongoing reassessment may be recommended depending on clinical needs.
